Bespoke handmade audio visual cabinet for funeral director in Wadebridge, Cornwall
We have just completed an audio-visual installation in a renovated chapel in Wadebridge which has now become the new home for R.J.Bray Funeral Directors. The installation required a stylish architecturally sensitive audio visual system for both the chapel used for services and the overflow room on the first floor. A 55″ Smart screen shows an HD quality image of service proceedings downstairs via a Dahua eyeball camera which will soon have the capability to record services or allow them to be streamed to non attendees on the internet. The sound system includes a Sennheiser wireless lapel microphone, an Audio-Technica slimline gooseneck microphone on the lectern and a Denon multimedia player as well as an audio link from the organ. RCF MQ series speakers have been used as much for their aesthetic appearance as their sound quality and the chapel also benefits from an RCF 100v line sub-woofer. However, what really finished this installation off was the audio visual cabinet to house the hardware. Our client David Bray really wanted a cabinet that would sit sympathetically with the pews installed in the new chapel. So we contacted a local cabinet maker to see what could be done. We provided a very basic drawing for the dimensions and a photo of the pews. When it was delivered, we couldn’t wait to show David and below you can see why……………. Our client couldn’t believe that it wasn’t made from another pew and to be honest nor can...

Philleigh Village Hall between St Mawes and Truro has benefited from a complete refurbishment using lottery funding. This included a complete audio-visual installation by Kernow Installations including a 2.4m electric screen and projector, a hearing loop and a comprehensive sound system suitable for virtually anything including a disco! Because the room will be used for many purposes, the equipment rack is on castors so that it can be stored in a cupboard. All of the cabling has been pre-installed before the inner walls were finished resulting in a fine sounding yet discrete installation. This slideshow requires...

Having installed the original sound system into Probus Parish Church some fifteen years ago, it was flattering that when the PCC wanted to give it an upgrade that they came back to us. The upgrade involved replacing the wireless microphone systems with TOA 5000 series systems including a remote antenna to increase operating range, a couple of music input points at the front and rear of the church and the re-installation of the main equipment into an oak rack cabinet which tidied up the wiring. Finally the insertion of a 31-band graphic equaliser ensured the best audio quality and output level without any risk of feedback. The client was as equally delighted as the first time we had visited so hopefully we’ll see them again in another fifteen years. Original Installation Upgraded...

We have recently been acting as sub-contractors to ICE Technology installing their interactive screens in schools across Devon and Cornwall replacing white boards which are now considered obsolete. ICE have been very happy with the quality of our installations and it looks like we’ll be continuing as their preferred installer. Most of the screens to date have been 65″ which weigh in at around 95kg. However on one day this week, we had the challenge of four 80″ interactive screens weighing in at 135kg each. Although we had allowed two days to complete the installation using lifting gear, we managed to complete the whole installation in a day. The screens are truly amazing and having been trained by the manufacturer, we are now able to offer these screens with their software to our corporate clients as well. This slideshow requires...

With a tightly controlled budget and a short time-frame in which to work, Kernow AV Installations appear to have pulled off a very successful opening ceremony for the new Viking Voyagers 2-year exhibition at The National Maritime Museum Cornwall in Falmouth which has involved museums from across Europe. Due to the value of the some of the exhibits, any haze, smoke, pyros and the like had been ruled out so we were constrained to some lighting and our FBT PA system which sounded like Thor himself had turned up! What totally made it were the ten angry vikings that appeared as you will see in the video clip. https://youtu.be/jPBaT7hK6-c A really fun opening...

Helston Community College benefited from a new stage sound system last month. They required a simple to operate system for day-to-day use but be able to run the system with a larger desk-type mixer for school productions and similar large events. Using FBT Verve speakers, a very flexible Stageline 1U mixer, DBX graphic equalisers and a Crown amplifier, the rack mounted system just needs turning on at the mains for the TOA wireless microphone systems to work along with a 3.5mm jack input for laptop audio. An 8-way stage box was then fitted to each side of the proscenium arch and run back to a Yamaha MG16XU mixing desk at the rear of the hall for the larger events. Not a particularly large installation but one that was very satisfying, particularly Ben’s little extra with the blue and white LED striplighting on the PA...

Kernow Installations have already overhauled the site-wide PA system and the audio visual systems in the conference/function rooms and installed new audio and LED lighting systems in the Cycle Aerobics Suite. The LG LED TVs have almost no bezels and look really sleek. There are more improvements planned for this fabulous venue.
