Helston Community College benefited from a new stage sound system last month. They required a simple to operate system for day-to-day use but be able to run the system with a larger desk-type mixer for school productions and similar large events. Using FBT Verve speakers, a very flexible Stageline 1U mixer, DBX graphic equalisers and a Crown amplifier, the rack mounted system just needs turning on at the mains for the TOA wireless microphone systems to work along with a 3.5mm jack input for laptop audio. An 8-way stage box was then fitted to each side of the proscenium arch and run back to a Yamaha MG16XU mixing desk at the rear of the hall for the larger events. Not a particularly large installation but one that was very satisfying, particularly Ben’s little extra with the blue and white LED striplighting on the PA rack.
