Stephen Gilbert has just returned from St Mary’s in the Scillies where he has been providing various sound systems for the Spring Bank Holiday Championships for more than 15 years. Horn PA systems are sited on the harbour wall (finishing line) and on ‘The Green’ (marshalling area for 136 pilot gigs and over 1000 competitors. Commentary is provided through Radio Scilly with a mobile link to their commentator aboard the press boat that follows the gigs in.
